AFRICAN CLAWED FROG - 2017

The ongoing eradication campaign that started in 2006 has proved successful and the populations of the African clawed frog decreased sharply in the invaded streams. However, in 2015 the number of juvenile specimens greatly increased in one of the streams. After exhaustive monitoring of the water bodies in the vicinity of the invaded streams, the team leading the eradication campaign found the African clawed frog in several tributaries, tanks and fountains. Among the water bodies in which the team intervened to eradicate the species, I highlight the artificial lake of a golf camp where we removed over 10.000 frogs.
